Learning, Growing, and Preparing to Serve Margate

Over the years, I've learned that good leaders never stop learning. Whether it's through my work as a community advocate, a Guardian ad Litem, a nonprofit leader, or simply listening to my neighbors, every experience has taught me something valuable. That's why I chose to attend the Florida Institute for Political Leadership's Campaign School and Community Leadership Program, where I was honored to earn my Certificate of Completion.

For me, this wasn't about adding another certificate to my wall. It was about becoming better prepared to serve the people of Margate.
The program gave me the opportunity to learn from experienced public servants, campaign professionals, and policy experts. We discussed ethical leadership, building trust, communicating effectively, understanding public policy, and how to bring people together to solve real problems. One lesson stood out above all the others: leadership isn't about titles—it's about service.
That lesson reflects exactly why I'm running for Margate City Commission, Seat 5.
Our city deserves leaders who show up prepared, listen before they speak, and make decisions based on what's best for our residents—not politics or personal agendas. I believe every family deserves safe neighborhoods, responsible growth, transparent government, and leaders who are accountable to the people who elected them.
I'm not running because I have all the answers. I'm running because I'm willing to do the work, continue learning, and always listen to the people I represent. That's the kind of leader I've tried to be throughout my years of serving our community, and it's the kind of commissioner I will be.
I'm grateful to the Florida Institute for Political Leadership for providing this opportunity and to everyone who shared their knowledge and experience throughout the program. I leave with new skills, new perspectives, and an even stronger commitment to serving Margate with integrity, humility, and purpose.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, supported, and believed in me throughout this journey. Your trust means everything. I promise to continue working hard every day to earn it.
Together, we can protect what makes Margate special, strengthen our community, and build a future that works for everyone.
I'm asking for your vote for Margate City Commission, Seat 5, so together we can continue putting People Over Politics and move our city forward.
With gratitude,
Nina Culver
